Terra Music Academy Opportunities

Expanding to Bellevue

In a collaborative partnership between Terra Community College and Bellevue Society for the Arts, the Terra Music Academy is now offered in two great locations – Terra Community College and the Bellevue Society for the Arts. 

The Terra Music Academy is the community music school division of Terra’s quickly growing Music, Arts and Humanities programs. Since its inception in 2000, Terra’s music and arts offerings have grown to include degrees in Music Performance, Music Business, Music Education, Music Technology and Recording Arts, Arts in Music, and has brought to the communities programs such as the popular holiday festival concerts, numerous guest artist appearances, and performance partnerships and concert series with the Sandusky State Theatre and Port Clinton Performing Arts Center. 

The college will continue bringing these great musical experiences next year with the addition of the Arts Midwest International Music Festivals and the Sound of Music Festival.

In 2004 Terra added to its offerings a community music school for students outside of the college’s degree programs. Today the Terra Music Academy offers affordable and quality instrumental, vocal and specialized lessons to students of all ages and levels of experience. 

Academy lessons and programs are taught by experienced faculty and provide students with numerous opportunities of education. From the beginners just learning to play to those learning music for self-enrichment, or individuals preparing for college studies and possible careers in music, the Terra Music Academy has offerings for everyone. In addition to lessons, the Terra Music Academy offers their students workshops, master classes and a “Conversations with the Artist” series presented by professional performers and educators in numerous areas of the music field and the performing arts.

Starting this spring, a second location for the Terra Music Academy comes to the Bellevue Society for the Arts. This great opportunity provides an advantage for students to have these educational music and performing arts opportunities in Bellevue and surrounding areas. 
Bellevue Society for the Arts has held a strong tradition of offering great community theatre opportunities and a home for the arts in Bellevue, Ohio.  Now their dedication to education joins with Terra to continue bringing arts education to the communities.

Lessons offered through the Terra Music Academy include: voice, piano, electric bass, string bass, acoustic and electric guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, harp, percussion (drums), saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba and euphonium, violin, viola, and specialized lessons in music theory, jazz and pop music theory, songwriting, arranging, ear training, improvisation, and conducting basics.  Other lessons, not listed, may be available upon request.
