About Us

We've come a long way.

25 years ago we looked like this:

Through the hard work of many, many people over the past 12 years or so we have gone from occasional community theater to a unique facility.

Though the generosity of many, many people, particularly Jim and Nancy Shelley and Gary and Karen Hirt, we have constructed a wonderful facility for live theater, movies, concerts, art shows, banquets, cabaret, receptions, and other events.

Through the dedication of many directors, teachers, musicians, singers, actors, set constructors, painters, printers, and lots of other types of hard work, we regularly produce seasons of live theater and live music, and art shows unique to any city our size (or much larger) in Ohio.

The Ohio Arts Council has approved the BSA to receive limited State funding. This is used to defray the cost of royalties of our shows. We are very pleased since the application process is arduous and receiving the grant validates our efforts.

The BSA is governed by a 15 member Board of Trustees who serve three year terms.

Currently (2008) the officers are Laurie Trapp, President, Kim Stults,  Vice-President, Sharon Musser, Secretary, and Betty Moyer, Treasurer. The other Board members are Heather Blair, Jimy Foreman, Jeff Hayward, Doug Klein, John Meyers, Lynn Middleswarth, Clayton Miller , David Riegle, Teri Robinson, and Janet Scagnetti.

The BSA's Director of Marketing is Cathy Barclay.

Responsibility for BSA activities is delegated to committees, and involves both Board members and BSA members who may not be on the Board.

We are ALWAYS in need of volunteers who want to help. If you are interested please contact us and we will put you to work.  Our payroll is very simple: nobody gets paid anything.  But the satisfaction is invaluable, and you get to work with some really nice people: US.
